Dade Community Foundation is currently
accepting proposals for its GLBT
Community Projects Fund Initiative. This program
awards grants to support programs or projects that address current
and emerging needs related to the GLBT community. Specific
funding priorities are outlined in the Proposal Guidelines which
are available on the Foundation’s website: www.dadecommunityfoundation.org.

MIAMI NICE (Sub-Awards) GRANTS: Miami NICE is a
unique public/private partnership comprised of the City of Miami,
Miami-Dade County, The Children’s Trust, Center on Nonprofit
Effectiveness (C-One), The Alliance for Human Services, Family
and Children Faith Coalition, and the United Way of Miami-Dade. The
purpose of the Miami NICE Project is to assist small faith-based
and community organizations (FBCOs) and non-profit organizations
to acquire and develop the skills and tools needed to increase
their efficiency; improve their sustainability and effectiveness;
prepare them as collaborators; and prepare them to apply for
first time federal grants and grants management.

FOR CHANGE (SFG) - JIMMY BUFFETT'S MARGARITAVILLE
SUPPORTING PROGRAMS IN THREE AREAS OF INTEREST: Children
and families: programs are concerned with the health, education
and protection of children and their families. Projects that
foster self-esteem and self-sufficiency and that teach nonviolence
and creative problem solving are most likely to be considered.
The environment: programs will promote environmental awareness
and teach people methods of conservation, protection and
the responsible use of natural resources. Disenfranchised
groups: SFC defines these groups as people who have been
marginalized in society because of their low levels of skill,
education or income; people with AIDS, disabillities and
homeless people. Projects likely to be considered are those
which: 1. help people overcome social or economic barriers
to education or employment, 2. promote the empowerment of
individuals toward self-sufficiency and provide opportunities
for personal growth, and 3. demonstrate human equality and
encourage people to cross boundary lines to help others.

WALGREENS
COMPANY CONTRIBUTION PROGRAM. Applications are accepted year-round. This
program primarily makes grants to nonprofit organizations
in local communities where Walgreens stores are located.
Support is provided in the areas of health and human services,
education, civic and community, arts and culture. Priority
funding areas are health and education, with health as the
company's major area of focus. A small portion of the budget
is reserved for national organizations selected that focus
on medical research and treatment of specific diseases. Visit

SUBSTANCE ABUSE EDUCATION: Wal-Mart Foundation grants
funds for education on the effects of substance abuse/treatment

WAVE FOUNDATION OFFERS SUPPORT TO YOUNG WOMEN ACTIVISTS AND
